About

My drawings are hands-on and intuitive. My practice raises questions relating the nature of matter. The pictorial writing is constructed like a sculpture, as I add and remove graphite in the surface. What is represented, when there is representation (it is not always the case), appears and disappears, or sometimes seems to be about to appear.

It is in a very practical and concrete approach, in the action of doing that my purpose develops.

Essentially, papers, pencils and eraser are what accompany the creation. I see paper as an entity that carries within a story with a series of events testifying of its organic microscopic, silent and life path.

I carefully observe the natural configurations of matter to hopefully imagine/see what the paper contains, feeling all its subtle layers. The work is built on a frame that refers to biological references, but which also fundamentally echoes my personal identity quest.

I am fascinated by what the paper conceals, and try to reveal its beautiful vibratory identity, one which recalls its origin, its heritage. This is truly an ongoing quest of mine in my practice. My practice continues to be an approach intimately linked to the contemplative observation of what is created.
